Following the success of the “Images for Strength and Hope” breast cancer event last spring, the Stanton Territorial Hospital Foundation held an event for men’s health on Saturday, June 4. This year’s event, “Protecting the Jewels of the North,” featured a unique fashion show with 36 boxers created by local artists and modeled by brave, local men and aimed to raise awareness of how the early detection of prostate and testicular cancer can save a life. Thanks to a generous donation from Diavik Diamond Mines Inc., a commemorative art book – with photos of all the boxers, models, and artists plus stories – was also launched during the event. To purchase a book, stop by the Foundation's office in the Diamond Plaza (102-5204 50th Avenue). The "Images for Strength and Hope" book is also available.
